Elite Gate Access Control in Tarzana: What to Know First

We repair, upgrade, and install Elite gate access control systems in Tarzana, typically in a single visit. That covers keypads, remotes, phone entry, card readers, video intercoms, and smart access on Elite slide and swing gate operators. Most access control repairs here run between $180 and $390, and every quote is settled before we turn a single bolt.

Call (925) 263-6107

This page is for Tarzana homeowners whose Elite system has stopped answering the keypad, forgotten its remotes, or locked the gate shut with the car on the wrong side. As an independent Elite service provider, we work on systems the manufacturer no longer supports and ones still under warranty. Call (925) 263-6107 and a live person answers, day or night.

How Elite Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Elite SL series keypad stops accepting codes after a power flicker. We see this most often on older Elite SL-3000 slide operators after a SoCal Edison brownout or a valley heat surge. The control board loses its memory and the keypad goes dead while the gate still opens from the remote. The fix is board-level reprogramming first, and if the board is truly fried, we replace it with either the OEM Elite board or a quality aftermarket equivalent, depending on warranty status and the homeowner’s budget.
  • Elite CL series swing gates drift open and won’t stay sealed. On Elite CL-2000 swing operators, the limit switches wear out over years of valley heat and Santa Ana dust. The symptoms are subtle at first: the gate stops a few inches shy of closed, then starts opening again like it has a mind of its own. We replace the limit components and re-set the travel so the gate closes tight against the stop every time.
  • Elite remote range shrinks from 60 feet to six. When a Tarzana homeowner tells us they have to pull right up to the gate before the Elite remote works, the receiver board is usually the culprit. Heat here shortens the life of the receiver capacitors faster than the manual would have you believe. We test the receiver, replace it when necessary, and sometimes add an external antenna that restores the range you had when the system was new.
  • Elite telephone entry system rings and rings but won’t open the gate. Homes off Reseda Boulevard and around the Braemar Country Club area use Elite phone entry boxes at the street. When the unit stops triggering the gate, the relay that carries the open command from the phone board to the operator has usually failed. It is a small part, but it takes a trained tech to diagnose, because the phone board appears fine from the outside.
  • Elite keypad buttons stick or fail one at a time. Tarzana’s dry climate is hard on rubber keypad membranes. The top row of buttons usually goes first, the ones hit hardest in the afternoon sun. We replace the keypad or membrane, then seal the housing so that the next one lasts through several more summers instead of one.

Our Elite Gate Access Control Process

  1. 1
You call. A live person answers at (925) 263-6107, any hour. We ask what the gate is doing, what brand and model you see, and when it started.
  2. 2
We show up. A background-checked, uniformed technician arrives in a stocked truck. Most Elite repairs are completed in that first visit.
  3. 3
We diagnose, then quote. The tech tests the keypad, receiver, board, and wiring. You get an upfront price before any work begins, and you approve it before we start.
  4. 4
We fix with the right parts. If the system is under warranty, we use OEM Elite parts so coverage stays intact. Otherwise, we recommend whatever serves you best: OEM or a proven aftermarket part at a lower cost, without cutting corners.
  5. 5
We test everything. The gate opens, closes, and locks out correctly. Remotes, keypad, and any phone or video entry get cycled many times, not once.
  6. 6
We stand behind it. Every job is covered in writing by our 90-Day Done Right Promise. If something isn’t right, we come back and make it right. No paperwork, no arguing.

Why Tarzana Homeowners Call Ironworks Gate Co. for Elite Work

Because we have been fixing gates across the West Valley for over 42 years, and we are trained on nine gate-automation brands: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. That matters when your Elite system shares a driveway with an older LiftMaster operator, or when it is time to talk about whether repairing the Elite or moving to a different brand makes better long-term sense. We will give you a straight answer either way.

Victor Salinas grew up off Reseda Boulevard in Tarzana, and he has spent the better part of four decades doing gate repair work across the West Valley. He learned the fundamentals of metalwork and electrical systems at Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills, where a shop instructor told him that a gate is only as honest as the person who built it. That sticks. Every job we finish is backed by the 90-Day Done Right Promise, in writing. You will also find this on every estimate: $50 Off Any Repair Over $250, a Free Second Opinion on Any Written Estimate, an $89 Seasonal Tune-Up, and a permanent 5% Senior and Veteran discount.
